42/365 dreams

Right now, Em dreams of becoming a photographer. Her first step is to get into the School for the Arts at the high school. I dropped off her application on Wednesday. If they want her, she'll have an audition and interview next month. I need to take her out in the next week or 2 and let her use my camera to get some photos for her portfolio. If she gets in, she'll be in all 4 years of high school. She can focus on one area while also exploring other areas of the arts. We've also been discussing possible college options for her but I'm not really ready to think too much about that yet. lol.

It's not really a surprise that she's chosen photography. Her grandpa-my dad-is a photographer and has been for 30+ years. And I'm getting there. I guess it's in her blood. :-)

I used Em's P&S for this so the settings aren't really important since I couldn't change them, except ISO. Wow, am I glad I don't have to use her camera on a regular basis. She really needs a dslr.

That sounds like a great program. I wish her the best. I'm sure she'll do very well...especially since she can learn alongside you and watch what you do.

that's so amazing she has direction at such a young age. I was just talking about passion last pm w/ some friends....my oldest is passionate only about video games, lol. Lots of luck!

Is this a visual arts program? I'm intrigued. We have a performing arts and a visual arts program. I never even considered that photography could be part of the visual arts program.
