Today's prompt was space-where they are comfortable. But since no one really has a "space" that they love, except Em and I already got her in hers when she was reading, I decided to do Matthew outside. This isn't really what I had planned but he didn't want to cooperate and gave me less than 5 minutes and 6 shots. He heard the shutter on the last shot and took off to see if his friend could play before I even had time to look up.

I have gotten a few questions about what I do to get the sharpness I do so I thought I'd start sharing some settings. Thank you to those who have left compliments and questions. It seriously makes my day brighter to read them. I am no expert by any stretch of the imagination and there are plenty of people who are better than me. But if I can help someone learn, I am more than happy to do that.
ISO100
F2.8
Shutter speed 1/500
Focused on his eye.

aw, look at that smile... Max loves it outside too, but when it's warm than it has been....lol.
Very good DOF. Love that he is more outdoorsy than a video gamer. That's how I grew up and hope my kids are the same way.
I love it when the DOF is like this and the subject is so vivid right there in the front! I enjoy your edits!!
Haha! Sounds like how my son will be at that age. He tells me 5 more pictures. And at 5, he is d.o.n.e.
Love the composition and the focus is spot on!
Thanks for sharing your settings. I love seeing what others do when setting up a shot. And, I must say, you didn't need any more than 6 shots because I can't imagine anything coming out nicer than this one.
omg, this is soooo my middle guy too! how old is he? our kids really have alot in common :)

Yep, the 50mm (f1.4). Love that lens.
I'm so excited that you're going swimming with the manatees! Can't wait to hear all about it.
Very handsome and great capture. You made me smile. :D
