38/365 Generations

Today's prompt is generations. Since the majority of our family lives around 16 hours away, it is impossible to get a shot with them today. And since I'll most likely forgot about this assignment when we're up there in July, I decided to improvise. This is Matthew with his grandpa (my dad) at age 6 and his great grandpa (my dad's dad) playing hockey. Matthew never got to meet his great grandpa because he passed away when Em was a baby. He never knew he had great grandchildren. But I think he would have been thrilled if he had known he's got 4 gorgeous great grandchildren now.

*I probably should have used more recent photos, especially of my dad. But isn't he cute at 6??

Again, I'm not terribly happy with this. It's dark and rainy again today. I am the first to admit that I'm very, very picky and I'm sure it's really not that bad. There are just things about it that bug me. LOL

i LOVE it! My shot is going to be similar, as my family isn't close either.

I had to skip today's assignment 'cause we're not near any family at all, either! I find your photo crisp with good vibrant colors. I see nothing wrong with it whatsoever!!!!

Catherine-It's his eyes. I told you I'm picky. LOL

That was a clever idea to improvise holding photgraphs. I wouldn't have thought of that. We live 27 hours away from our families, so I know what it's like to live so far away. I'm sure his great grandpa would have been very proud!

Now why didn't I think of that? My parents are across the street and I couldn't get a photo with them. Bad me...

While looking at your photo I was thinking..."I love how crisp, vibrant and clean this photo is!" I think it is great!!

As I was working on my post this thought went through my head....I wish I'd done this project last year so it would have motivated me to take a picture of my mom with the kids. But I wasn't taking it, and I didn't take many of her with the kids, mostly because she didn't like her picture taken. Now, I would give anything just to have a few more...especially one or two with my son. So, if I can share anything with today, think of me the next time you're with your family and make the time to take some shots with everyone together, even if you don't feel like it or they don't want to. You can never get those times back again, so capture them while you can.

BTW, my first thought when I saw your son was "how does she do this!" Another clear, crisp shot with wonderful color, and I think his eyes are fine. We are always our biggest critic thought, but you really shouldn't be so hard on yourself.

you are way too hard on yourself, this is a great pic! I love that you used pics of your relatives as kids.
