227/365 first day

I wanted to get this posted last night but after going through the stacks of paperwork all 3 kids brought home, I didn't have the energy for it.

Yesterday was the first day of school for all 3 of my babies.

005
7th grade
009
3rd grade
015
9th grade. I left before Em was ready in the morning and I almost forgot to get her picture last night. I don't like this one....I prefer the one of her I took Friday...but I had to post a 1st day of school picture. It's tradition! ;-)

I volunteered to help out at Joshua's school, showing kids to classes since it's a brand new school, so Joshua and I left quite early. I actually ended up staying the whole morning with another mom because there was other work that needed to be done. Can I just say that we must have the best elementary school there is? I mentioned before that we switched schools for Joshua this year because most of the staff we love from his old school was moving to the new one. I am so, SO glad we made the switch. I'm very excited that he can continue to be with the people he loves {and who love him right back. Seriously can't get any better than that}. I was able to express a few concerns yesterday and his special teachers were already on it and had the same concerns. I know he's being looked after and taken care of. If I could hug every one of them, I would. I'm also loving that my friend/neighbor Jen's 2 boys are going to the new school too and that we can both be quite involved. Joshua had a great day, loves his class and said he liked related arts science the best :-)

Matthew's report on his first day was that it was "really, really, really good." He's excited about his classes, loves his teachers. I had to make sure it was really Matthew I was talking to. He's the one who claims he doesn't like school.

Emaleigh had a great first day too. She is also loving her teachers, has made some new friends and didn't get lost ;-)

I'm glad they had a good first day back, and glad that Joshua likes his new school. I hope it'll be a good year for everybody.

Sounds like things are off to a great start with all the kids. Whew, what a relief that must be for you. I'm so glad to hear that all is going well for Joshua; I know you were worried about that, but it's funny how things just seem to work out the way they're supposed to sometimes. And yeah that Em didn't get lost on her first day. Love your photos of them and their back to school outfits are really cute.

Yipppeee! So glad all 3 had a great first day. Sounds like Joshua is going to have a fantastic year. And I'm so psyched to hear that those words came from a middle schooler! :) I'm hoping my new middle schooler will think it is "really, really, really good" too.

I adore that pic of Em. I love that she's not forcing a smile. Just looking cool.
