148/365 panning

Matthew was willing to help me out with my first attempt at panning today. But he was a bit disappointed that it didn't turn out as good as the example I showed him online {sorry, Bud, I'm just not that good}. This was harder than I thought it would be. My settings were: iso100, f11, ss 1/30. When I tried a lower shutter speed, everything was blurry. I didn't use a tripod, which might have helped. Any recommendations?

I think you did a great job with it! I somewhat tried it before but wasn't successful, and I didn't feel like researching on how to get it better.. another time..

I like it and have to say it's better than what I could do, so I think you did great!

I think it's amazing! Great first try! I've only done this at night with cars. It would be fun to try during the day if I had a subject. Maybe if he was going a bit faster it would help the blur of the background more?

I have been meaning to try this! I'm no help. I figure I'll have to dig out a photo book when it's my turn! I think you did great!

I like it. It's not easy to do, but oh so much fun to try. I hope we'll get to see more. :)

You did GREAT! I have yet to try this. I always learn about it, and then never actually try it. Seriously, I'm impressed.

I have tried this once...but during that time, I was with my mentor...i've tried the second time around (without him) and could not get my settings rights...LOL...

This is really great shot considering it's your first time...and oh, you are good, trust me!!! :)
