Matthew's first playoff game was this afternoon. It was close the entire game and relatively uneventful. The score was tied 4-4 at the end of the 6th inning (they only go to 6). Matthew ended up scoring their 5th run to win the game. The other team wasn't able to come back and score any in the bottom of the 7th. I wanted to get some action photos but there really wasn't a lot of action to get. Matthew made a great catch in right field but I missed it :-( So here is yet another batting photo. I cropped it a bit differently and I'm not sure I like it. What do y'all think? He hit it, though it doesn't look like it. It went down the 1st base line and ended up being foul.

The focus is fantastic and I love the ball floating there. My one critique is that I always like lead room in front of the subject in the direction they are facing, but that is just my personal preference :)
I think it looks good. I like the clarity and that ball in mid air!
Okay...first off, I have to say...this is soooooooooooooo much harder than it looks. I tried taking pics of my son and my hubby playing ball (it wasn't pretty). The ball went too fast, or I missed completely, or it didn't focus right. It was really hard. I knew you were good at this...but let me just say, I have a whole new appreciation for these action shots. You've got it down!!! I don't know how you do it.
i am amazed by how consistently you get great focus and clarity in your baseball shots! i'm undecided about the crop b/c i like having more negative space towards wherever the subject is facing. :)
