128/365 matthew and grandpa

I grew up living in the same city as both sets of my grandparents. I saw them a lot-they watched us when my parents went out, we {my sister and I} stayed at their houses over night, helped grandma S in her garden, got ice cream with grandpa N.....

One thing that's difficult about living so far away is that my kids don't get those kinds of experiences with their grandparents very often. We see them maybe 2 times a year, sometimes 3. Despite the distance, Matthew and Joe's dad have a special bond. Matthew loves to go fishing with grandpa. They both like baseball. I love watching them together. Joe's parents are here right now visiting and I was able to catch Matthew and grandpa in the backyard this afternoon throwing the baseball.

What a nice memory that you have captured. These kinds of pictures are so much more valuable than the sitting there all posed ones, although they do have their place too. Happy Mother's Day to you !

this is soooo sweet...i am hoping to have the same thing with my daughter..my parents are in another country and they have only seen my daughter through pictures, whereas my hubby's side, almost every weekend. I am hoping that my daughter gets to bond like this with my father when they'll meet in the future...:)

Happy Mother's Day! I'm glad that your children get those special times every year with their grandparents, I know they'll treasure them. I didn't get to see my grandparents growing up very much. Maybe every 3-4 years. I always enjoyed the time I did have with them though.

You did a great job of capturing such a special moment. And, of course, you know this one touches my heart.
