I remember when he took us to get our very own library cards. I don't remember how old I was but it was very exciting to me. I could check out books all by myself. We lived only a few blocks from the library, in a small town. When I got a bit older, I could walk or ride my bike there by myself. I would take a backpack along to hold the books I wanted. It would be full when I came home and I read through them and then went back for more.
My dad is also a writer. When I was in high school, he would often ask me to proof read what he'd written. He doesn't know this, but it meant a lot to me that he trusted me to do it and valued my opinion.
I love that my kids love reading too. Well, 2 of them anyway. My 11 year old would rather be out doing than sitting still and reading. But he's getting there. I love that I've been able to share some of my favorite books growing up with my daughter and that she loves them too.

Have y'all read these books yet? I guess they're technically for teens but I know quite a few adults who have or are reading them. I started Catching Fire yesterday and finished it this morning. They're tense, shocking, suspenseful...... I can't put them down.

Today is my awesome SIL's birthday. Happy Birthday Becky! I love you!!

I'm so excited to read the next two books!!! Reading really is an awesome hobby. :-)
Did you just sneek in a selfie?! LOL Thanks for sharing. Hubby and I have to do something similar with our kids sp they can get the reading bug, too!
Christa-You'll be up all night. They're impossible to put down. LOL
Catherine-I did sneak one in ;-)
I haven't heard of these, but I love a good read. I couldn't put down the Twilight saga last year, so I guess I love teen novels! And yes, the GA Aquarium is the one in Atlanta. It is a really cool place.
I read all the time when I was a kid. As I got older that sort of dwindled. I've picked it up again over the past year but in the past couple of months not so much. I do love reading though. I just need to set my mind to it.
We love books in our house as well! Our homeschool curriculum is literature based. Love the photos!
LOVE this!!!!! GREAT photos AND story!! And those books are totally on my "to read" list! Already have them on my Nook... just gotta find the time! :)
Great photo of yourself, Amy. Hope you enjoy the chocolate cobbler.

I loved the story. I'm a big reader too. I just wish I made more time for it. Love the book shot, very creative getting the one quote in focus.
