Matthew was late coming home from school yesterday. He finally arrived about 3:30 and asked me to come outside, saying he and his friend Marcus had found a dog at the park. Oh, and could he keep it? I, of course, said no. A dog must have an owner somewhere. It must be lost. Then I went outside. And saw the cutest puppy face. It didn't have a collar. They told me that it had been abandoned at the park in a large, dirty comforter and with a food container. I told him she could stay here until we figured out what to do with her. My friend Jen came to see her and declared her healthy, as far as she could tell. She and I went to check out the area she was left, to make sure there were no other puppies there. There weren't any and she was definitely abandoned.
Matthew made it clear that he was willing to do anything to keep her. Including giving his Christmas money toward her expenses. I told him we'd talk about it.
Her name is Molly.

How anyone could dump her at a park and leave her is beyond me. She's very sweet, tries very hard to play with Alex and Cloud and has settled in nicely already. The cat, though, is NOT happy at all. He'll be okay though.

Oh MY GOODNESS! The second I saw your link on facebook I had to come check it out. That is so sad that someone would just dump her in the park. I wish people would be more responsible when getting a pet. But I'm so happy she has found a wonderful family like yours. She is just so sweet and you're son is too precious to offer his Christmas money back. We have a beagle and we love her. She is a great family dog. I hope to see more photos of that sweet sweet face!
I'm with Melissa! OMGoodness! Complete cuteness all around. Beagles are such great dogs! My sister in law just loves hers and has since gotten two more. What a lucky little girl to have been found by your son. You will have to keep us posted. It would be so hard to not fall in love with her at first sight. She'd be a great little thing to photograph when your littles are not around :)
Awww.... I love her! She is beautiful and a perfect addition to your family!
aaw! Pleeeease, mom! Can we keep her? You just gotta. She's too cute to not keep.
OH....Poor little thing. But she is lucky to have been foud by your boy. I bet she will be a blessing to your whole family.
She's beautiful! I just don't know how people can do that to such a cute little thing... How could you resist those puppy eyes??
No wonder you couldn't resist...Molly has the biggest, cutest puppy dog eyes! I would have melted, too. I'm sure she'll be a good addition to your family. Enjoy.
Oh for the love... I really don't want a dog but I would have been a sucker for that face. SO adorable! My kids would have been in heaven if that situation happened to them. Congratulations on the new addition!
oh wow! So you're going to keep her?!?! She's adorable! Congratulations, Mama!
How lucky is she?! I don't understand either how someone could dump her...look at that face?!
